Les vignerons viennent de rentrer les derniers raisins, ouf !!
Nous avons eu un temps extraordinaire pendant toute la récolte, cela nous a permis de rentrer les raisins au mieux de leur forme.
Pour moi un des millésime les plus éprouvant, la longueur de la récolte, le stress de mal faire, une récolte en permanence liée aux prédiction de la météo.
Il a fallu allez très vite, des la maturité, du travail important en cave pour les vinificateurs, et les vignerons.
Je pense qu’ils mériteront des compliments, car tout le monde a souffert, physiquement et moralement :
Mais dieux merci le résultât devrait être la, je pense que nous allons réussir le millésime ; au delà de nos espérance, on ne peut encore complètement se prononcer, la plupart des raisins étant sous marc, on verra après décuvage et fermentation Malo lactique.
il va faloir finir les vins.
Toutes les productions rhodaniennes ne seront pas au top,Mais je pense que l’on va trouver chez les vignerons méticuleux et amoureux de leurs vignes, des vins riches, charnus et puissant et un tres tres beau milesime.

LE VRANEC UN GRAND CEPAGE DE MACEDONIA
Le vranac (Вранац en serbe cyrillique – se prononce « vranats ») ou vranec (Вранец en macédonien – se prononce « vranéts ») est une vieille variété de raisin noir originaire du centre-ouest des Balkans. De nos jours, le vranac constitue le cépage le plus planté au Monténégro et il est aussi largement planté en République de Macédoine et dans le sud de la Serbie. Selon un rapport italien de 1996, le zinfandel et le primitivo (de Gioia), qui ont été identifiés, par analyse ADN faite par l’Université Davis, en Californie, comme un seul et même cépage, sont apparentés au vranac.
Le Vranac aime les climats chauds et secs. Ses grappes sont récoltées manuellement et, en fonction de sa zone de production, sa vendange peut commencer à partir de la mi-septembre et se poursuivent jusqu’au premier tiers d’octobre.
Le vranec est un très bon cépage,il est extrêmement riche en polyphenol on trouve souvent des IPT à 100 et 120 , énorme ! il faut donc le travailler en douceur,avec des extractions légères .
Il demande un élevage de plus d’un ans,pour exprimer son potentiel de fruit noir et sa douceur.
Un grand cépages slave !

In the middle of putting together a very comprehensive report on the southern Rhone and saw a few wines worth yapping about.
from Macedonia-two outstanding wines imported by Eric Solomon-both 2010s…..the Tikves Barovo made from Vranec and Kratuchia-seriously rich, complex and possibly age-worthy…and a wine I gave an amazing 94-the Tikves Belavoda-made from Plavec Malic and Vranec…tasted them with their consulting oenologist Philippe Cambie at his lab….truly worth tasting…love to hear some readers’ comments about them……

For me the 2009 vintage was very stressful, we had a great drought during the summer,we had a great harvest of grape concentrate, but not the wall.
It took some time to reap, harvest very long and stressful, very very long fermentation andhuge tannin structure that had to tame.
The end of great wines for aging, but the characteristic austerity is fading with time, a great vintage of custody, or the sweetness begins to appear just now.
For 2010, it differs, the more a great vintage, the tannic richness and freshness, the wine isvery balanced, with lovely red fruit and freshness, the vintage of great care, a great 1978 !
Will not be the immediate pleasure of wine, such as 2007, but the wines of the same level in time.

WASTED*: A Vertical Tasting of the Sine Qua Non Grenache 1995-2009
The conclusions I came to about this tasting may seem obvious just by reading the tasting notes. People forget that as famous as Sine Qua Non and both Elaine and Manfred Krankl have become over the last 15 years, their wines really only began to hit full world-class qualitative levels at the turn of the last century (2000). The vineyard sources have largely changed from Alban, Stolpman, Bien Nacido, Shadow Canyon and White Hawk Vineyards to primarily estate vineyards Cumulus Vineyard in Ventura County and 11 Confessions Vineyard in the Santa Rita Hills. In the future, Krankl’s newest vineyard in Alisos Canyon will be an additional component part. His meticulous craftsmanship and phenomenal attention to detail, both in the vineyard and in the winery, have been increasingly noticeable over the last decade. He seemed to hit full stride about eight or nine years ago, and what has unfolded since then is an absolutely brilliant succession of true works of genius, both in his expressive, sometimes slightly abstract artwork on the labels, to the meticulously crafted wood boxes in which the wines are housed. Of course, the most important thing of all, the actual wine itself, is both the beginning as well as the end for consumers, and where 100% of my focus and judgement are centered. Grenache, as Krankl would be the first to say, is by far the most challenging grape varietal to make majestic wine from, and unequaled in difficulty by any other grape in the world except Nebbiolo. That’s why we see so little of it from great terroirs. High quality Grenache exists in northern Spain, southern France, parts of southern Italy and Sardinia, and in southern Australia, but rarely in California. This makes Krankl’s achievement all the more remarkable.
Production ranges from 250-300 cases for the long barrel-aged Grenache to nearly 1,000 cases for the earlier released Grenache. Prices are in the $150-250 range from the winery. Tel. (805) 237-1231; Fax (805) 237-1314
* Regarding the article’s title, “Wasted” – I was so elated (by their quality) as well as depressed (because I couldn’t drink all of these elixirs) that it seemed as if too much wine had been “wasted.” On a light-hearted note, my condition once I finished the academic part of the tasting could have been described as “wasted” by those who still hold to the notion that alcohol is the demon drink.
